Donors

We are fortunate to have many donors around the world that help support BCF on a regular basis.  Sometimes it is a monthly gift through their employer, sometimes they send personal checks.  A large percent of our donors come through the CFC (Combined Federal Campaign - number 11809).  These are people who serve our country in the military and government offices and also serve Blind Children’s Fund with their generous donations year after year.  To everyone that donates to our cause we sincerely thank you.  Without your donations we could not “help blind children learn to live in a world they cannot see.”

LemonLovesLimeLemon Loves Lime -  a girls’ clothing store that distributes its products across the United States  - contacted us a few months back and offered us a collection of beautiful handmade little girls pants, sweaters and tops to donate to visually impaired clients of Blind Children’s Fund.  Each piece from the Lemon Loves Lime collection is wonderfully unique and resembles cherished memories of the founder’s daughter’s childhood that she holds dear to her heart:  their exuberant smiles and laughs of happiness, their tears of sadness and fright, their innocent curiosity and the wonders of the world before them.  We successfully outfitted 5 little girls with new spring outfits by the end of May 2008.

IceMountainIce Mountain - In April of 2008 we requested a donation of bottled water from a local bottling company - Ice Mountain of Stanwood, Michigan.  They graciously donated 800 sports size bottles of water to BCF.  We used these bottles of water at our fundraisers - the Spaghetti Dinner, golf outings, etc.

Ice Mountain has long been committed to being a good neighbor to the community and to the environment. Much more than words and promises, their actions in aid of the environment, community initiatives, and education all speak for themselves.  Thank you Ice Mountain employees!

Grants

In 2003 Verizon awarded us a technology grant to update our office equipment.  This afforded us the opportunity to serve our parents and teachers more quickly and efficiently.  We are also able to do more of our own in-house printing of the six books that we hold the copyrights to.  Many thanks to Verizon and their employees for their donations and support.

Executive Director Karla Storrer accepts the grant check from Verizon Public Affairs Manager John VanWyck (center).

Mt. Pleasant Chamber of Commerce and BCF Board members joined the celebration of the gift.

SamsClubIn 2007 we received a grant from Sam’s Club/Wal-Mart, Mt. Pleasant, MI.   The monies they donated underwrote many of our fundraisers in 2007 & 2008.  A sincere thank you to the employees of Sam’s Club/Wal-Mart!
